JUNIOR ACADEMY THERAPIST Organisation Middlesbrough Football Club Salary Enquire Location Rockcliffe Hall Training Ground, Hurworth Darlington Contract type Permanent (Full time) Closing date 15 June 2026 Job Description An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within Middlesbrough Football Club’s Category 1 Academy as a Junior Academy Therapist, based at the Club’s training ground in Hurworth, near Darlington. THE ROLE:The successful individual will play a crucial role in assisting the Head Academy Physiotherapist and the Senior Academy Physiotherapist in the management of the medical services for the U9s-21s playersyou will be responsible for:• Attending any relevant academy training and matches home or away as directed by the Head Academy Physiotherapist.• Working closely with the U9-16s Sports Rehabilitator to organise evening clinics for the U9-16s which includes rehabilitation and first aid training cover.• Assisting in the co-ordination of the medical and orthopaedic screening of all academy players.• Assisting in the rehabilitation process for all age groups from age U9-U21 under the guidance of senior staff members.• Attending all appropriate briefings and training sessions organised by Middlesbrough Football Club.• Ensuring that Safeguarding regulations and protocols are complied with. CANDIDATES SHOULD:• Hold a BSc (hons) or MSc degree in Physiotherapy or Sports Therapy / Rehabilitation.• Be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and be a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (CSP) • Excellent communication skills with all members of the Club and have strong operational ability with an attention to detail• FA ATMMiF (Level 5) trauma management or equivalent.• The Job Holder must hold a full driving licence and have the use of a vehicle• Experience in a Professional sport environment is desirable however not required as this is a junior position.• Desirable to be ATMMiF qualified however training provided as not essential.• Desirable to have FA Safeguarding however training provided as not essential.CLOSING DATE: 15 June 2026Please note that this post falls within the scope of ‘regulated activity’ and is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974).
