The Opportunity We are looking for a dedicated Safeguarding Practitioner to join our Governance and Safe Sport team. This is a vital role that helps protect children, young people and adults at risk across our gymnastics community. You will contribute to ensuring that British Gymnastics and our affiliated organisations meet national safeguarding standards and follow best practice. The role supports our commitment to creating a safe, positive and inclusive environment for all participants.Main responsibilitiesIn this role, you will be responsible for managing and responding to safeguarding concerns and allegations. Key areas of responsibility include:• Case Managemento Receiving, logging and investigating safeguarding and disciplinary referrals, including gathering information, conducting enquiries and maintaining contact with those involved.o Risk assessing cases and identifying any legislative or regulatory implications.Sharing information effectively with statutory agencies, internal colleagues and other key stakeholders.o Preparing clear written documentation including case panel reports, correspondence and evidence bundles.• Supporting Safe and Inclusive Practiceo Promoting safe sport by upholding safeguarding expectations, inclusive practice and relevant policies across British Gymnastics.o Reporting concerns, breaches or misconduct through appropriate channels.o Contributing to a positive, respectful and inclusive organisational culture.• Collaboration and Wider Supporto Working closely with Welfare Officers across clubs, regions and home countries.o Supporting club visits, investigations and meetings and ensuring regular communication across the community.o Using your expertise to provide advice, signposting and guidance on safeguarding matters.• Full details about the role can be found in the Role ProfileAbout youThis role will suit someone who is passionate about safeguarding and committed to supporting a safer sporting environment. You will bring:• Knowledge, Skills and Experienceo Comprehensive and current knowledge of child and adult safeguarding including legal frameworks and disciplinary processes.o Experience providing safeguarding advice and handling enquiries, referrals and investigations.o Strong written communication skills with the ability to produce clear, structured and unbiased reports.o Effective organisation skills with the ability to balance priorities and manage competing deadlines.o Interpersonal skills to support stakeholders, influence good practice and manage sensitive conversations.o A relevant professional qualification or equivalent recent experience.o An understanding of gymnastics structures is desirable but not essential.
