Volunteer Safeguarding Case Management Group Member Organisation Bowls Development Alliance Salary Volunteer Role – Remote Location Remote Contract type Volunteer (Part time) Closing date 30 June 2026 Interview date 6 July 2026 Job Description Help keep the sport of bowls safe, inclusive, and supportive for everyoneThe Bowls Development Alliance (BDA) is a partnership organisation with a core purpose to “sustain, grow and develop the sport in partnership with the bowls family.â€We are seeking volunteers with safeguarding expertise to join our Safeguarding Case Management Group (CMG).This is a rewarding opportunity to use your professional skills and experience to help support the effective management of safeguarding concerns relating to children and adults at risk across the bowls family.About the RoleThe Bowls Development Alliance, alongside the National Governing Bodies (NGBs) within the sport of bowls, is seeking independent individuals to join its Safeguarding Case Management Group to support the fair, impartial, and effective management of safeguarding matters within the sport.The Case Management Group plays an important role in overseeing and advising on the management of safeguarding concerns and cases, helping to ensure that decisions are proportionate, transparent, and aligned with safeguarding principles, organisational policy, and relevant legislation.The role is voluntary and conducted remotely. Meetings are normally held at 9:30am on the first Tuesday of each month, with additional meetings convened where urgent safeguarding advice is requiredKey ResponsibilitiesAs a member of the Safeguarding Case Management Group, you will:• Promote cooperation, confidence and consistency in safeguarding decision-making• Provide independent, informed safeguarding advice based on your expertise and experience• Support the management of safeguarding concerns within appropriate timescales• Assist with decisions relating to adverse Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) disclosures• Recommend temporary suspensions where required• Consider and recommend referrals to DBS, statutory agencies or relevant governing bodies• Offer expert safeguarding insight across the bowls landscapeSkills and ExperienceWe are looking for individuals who can demonstrate:• Experience in safeguarding or a closely related field• Sound judgement grounded in safeguarding legislation, policy and evidence• Strong analytical skills and the ability to assess complex information• Experience of risk assessment and proportionate decision-making• A fair, child- and adult-at-risk–focused approach• Integrity and the ability to manage sensitive and confidential information• A collaborative mindset and confidence working as part of a specialist groupWhy Volunteer With Us?• Make a meaningful impact in safeguarding practice• Gain valuable experience in sports safeguarding• Be part of a committed and passionate safeguarding community How to apply Send in a current CV and a covering letter explaining why you wish to be on the CMG, to KarenMartin@BowlsDevelopmentAlliance.com Application closes on the 30th June 2026 Interview dates week commencing 6th July 2026 online via Zoom Successful applicants will be asked to complete a DBS check as part of our safer Recruitment process.
